Hatoon

Sculpting a new sound of jazz, neo-soul, and alternative R&B, the up-and-coming Sudanese-Dutch artist Hatoon is one to keep an eye on. Her intuitive writing is delivered by a warm, layered voice that is just as powerful -yet vulnerable- as the writing itself. Spending her childhood as a refugee in a small Dutch village gave the artist the position of the outsider/observer from a young age. Throughout the process of working through life’s challenges, the young artist gained societal, spiritual, and mental insights which she translates into her music hoping to inspire other young people (of color) that relate to her story.

After finishing her preparatory jazz education at the Fontys Conservatory, she continued her education at the Herman Brood Academie. Having sung backing vocals for other Dutch artists like Joshua-J, BNNYHUNNA, Lèlèman, and T-Shawn, it is time for the 22-year-old to step to the front and share her story. She will be kicking off with an intimate Homegrown session, eventually followed by a series of singles for her debut EP in the fall of 2023: Hindsight.

Talent is visible in these sessions
